Owner Kristi Keenan has an extensive background in writing, editing and design. She has a BS in English from Wofford College and a Masters in Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina School of Journalism. Kristi began her career in the public relations department of Shriners Hospitals for Children in Greenville, SC, where her duties included graphic design, writing, public and media relations. She later worked as public relations manager for Clapper and Company PR, where she managed multiple client accounts, providing graphic design, writing, public relations and event planning services. She moved on to spend five years as the editor of South Carolina Magazine, where she further honed her writing and editing skills and managed a large staff
of writers and photographers. Along the way, Kristi ran a freelance
graphic design and writing business, working primarily for local
non-profits, business-to-business and retail clients. After 11
years of experience, she now runs Proud Dog Creative, offering a
variety of writing, editing and design services for clients in four
states. She also currently serves as editor of Greenville Business Magazine, Greater Columbia Business Monthly and Greater Pee Dee Business Journal.
Kristi
has an strong background in community leadership and project
management, serving as President of the Greenville Jaycees in 2001 and
as Vice President for the South Carolina Jaycees in 2002 and 2003, garnering local,
state and national awards for performance. She currently serves as secretary and communications committee member of the board of directors for the YWCA of Greenville, is a member of the Greenville Jaycees Foundation and the Greenville Housing Fund, and serves as a foster parent for homeless basset hounds through the Carolina Basset Hound Rescue.
